2020 Vision | Long Term View

Image creation has now become a metaphor for life.

Every image I create has now become the story of my life.

Today, I took an unconventional view for my photographs.

I chose to use my new XF50-140mm for a spot of Street Photography.

This lens in my hands, feels slightly longer and slightly heavier than the XF55-200mm.

This means I found it very easy to walk around with.

I did notice the weight, but it was not a big deal, I can handle it easily and effortlessly.

I would have no problem walking the streets of London with this Lens all day.

The XF 50-140mm compared to the XF55-200mm is really about its fast Aperture at F2.8.

The long end of 55-200mm is useful and very impactful.

The XF50-140 is a beautiful optics.

It may not be as long but it renders perfectly.

With a field view close to the classic FF 70-200mm it’s a perfect Lens for The Fuji System.

I would use this primarily for Portraits, Studio work and perhaps Wild Life.

The Converter is on my wish list.

Seeing with a Telephoto begins long before I create the shot.

Seeing long means long term vision - my brain switches the instant I put the Lens on my camera body.

I have trained my eyes and mind to see like my Lens and I behave accordingly.

So, the long term view is cool with me.

It just means my vision is ok with the seeing well into the distance of life even if the present moment of life remains uncertain.

Life right now is heading towards the most hellish period in human history.

The best I can do is point my Lens towards the future, in the hope that whatever I see, reminds me, that life, is still a beautiful experiential process.
