40mm

The 40mm Field of View has become a very interesting Frame for me.

In the image above, you can see my X-T1 fitted with The TTArtisan 27mm F2.8. This tiny Pancake of a Lens gives me a field of view equal to 40.5mm on Full Frame Camera.

At 40mm, it sits right between the classic 35mm & the industry standard 50mm.

The 35mm is the beginning of Wide Angle Photography.

The 50mm is the mid point towards Telephoto.

The 27mm/40mm is called The Goldilocks Lens; not too Wide, not too Long, just right.

This focal length behaves like a 50mm with plenty of breathing space - that’s how I think about it. It feels perfectly normal to my eyes.

There is no optical trickery, just a perfectly rendered image which feels just the right distance from my eyes when looking through the view finder.

This Lens possess an optical piece of magic.

If you look at the image above, it looks like it was created using a Wide Angle Lens like my 18mm F2. Look at the width and depth, its quiet extraordinary and no distortion.

The only thing I need to test is Portraits; I have not created any Portraits using this Lens yet.

I really enjoy using this Lens. It is now part of my workflow Kit.
