Feeling The Vibe

I make a minimum of two visit to the Hospital everyday. I see mum, feed her lunch and then, she sleeps.

I watch over her for a little while as I watch her breath, wondering to myself, how many heart beats left.

My trips to the Hospital are punctuated by the feeling to create an image.

I was using my everyday camera the X-Pro 1 paired with the 16mm f2.8. My 18mm F2 has stopped working for some strange reason. So the 16mm is well within my natural Frame and works perfectly.

I like to walk along The Paddington Basin to get to the Hospital. This sight greeted me - I had never seen this before, the walk way Bridge was up. I never realised this Bridge could fan open like this.

These images above show the Bridge when the Legs are down; four sections which fan out all coalesce to create the walk way. It looks really fantastic. I suspect the engineers were doing some routine inspection.

Seeing the Light and documenting it is my quantum of solace.

Finally, tonight, I was surprised and delighted by an unexpected encounter.

I created this image tonight. It sits on top of a boat; the presence of life without people.

I saw a gentleman leaning against the boat. I asked him if this Boat was his. He told me it was an Air BNB. They were renting it. He was over from Canada enjoying London with his partner. I was truly astounded because the Boat is fully renovated to accommodate two people on The Grand Union Canal.

After this engaging conversation, I asked Max if I could create a photograph with him and Holly.

This moment is why I love creating images. My Camera is my passport to a quality of life that makes my experience so rich and full of gratitude. Talking to strangers, getting to know them, acknowledging there presence and humanity.

Max and Holly were warm and engaging. I sent them a copy of their Photograph.

This was a perfect end to my day.

It reminds me that life is and always will be beautiful.

“Each day holds a surprise. But only if we expect it can we see, hear, or feel it when it comes to us. Let's not be afraid to receive each day's surprise, whether it comes to us as sorrow or as joy It will open a new place in our hearts, a place where we can welcome new friends and celebrate more fully our shared humanity”.
