The Three Amigos

These three Lens are the original set-up which FujiFilm released 11 years ago with the X-Pro 1.

The 18mm F2, The 35mm F1.5 & The 60mm F2.8.

In Full Frame Terms, that’s 27mm, 53mm & 90mm.

Three Lens which cover a very broad range of subjects.

18/27mm - Environmental, Landscapes, Street Photography all with broad context. Environmental Portraits.

35mm/53mm - Street Photography, Portraits, Singular Theme Subjects.

60/90mm - Macro/Close-up Photography, Portraits.

The XF60mm F2.4 is a fantastic Lens for dedicated Portraits.

This set-up is quite fantastic. My only issue is changing Lens when out and about. So my shooting work flow is to pair up and use two Lens with two bodies.

Because of how my eyes work, I have the 18mm F2 on one body and then choose my second Lens depending on my shooting agenda. I see Wide & Long so more often than not the 60/90mm will be on my second body. This is a fluid way of working with no loss of response time.

All three Lens make for great Portraits; the 18mm will be a more environmental Portrait, the 35mm I tend to to shoot from the waist up and the 60mm works perfectly for head and shoulders.

The Three Amigos are a great team.

In spite of being 11 years old, they still deliver great images. My Gear is old now compared to the latest upgrades and development, I don’t care.

My gear works, that’s all that matters.
