10,000

“Your first 10,000 images will be your worst”.

Henry Cartier Bresson

The grand master preceded Malcolm Gladwell by several decades.

Think about this, 10,000 hours or images before you actually start to achieve some semblance of competency and effectiveness in a chosen discipline.

I have crossed this threshold a long time ago and I don’t think I am creating great images consistently.

Not even close.

The odd one or two perhaps.

Right now, I am enquiring about something very important for me, my photography and my life; what am I doing and why?

I love creating images, so what?

Who is it for?

Well, Instagram and this website feature all of my intellectual property.

I am not paid to do this, at best, it’s a very expensive hobby.

I can justify my spending on this discipline with a thousand stories. Doesn’t matter, I am passionate about exploring life, the human condition and expression and the illusive feeling which has no words.

The feeling that engages me to create an image of a moment.

I can’t explain it.

I am not worried about the 10,000 hours or images. All I care about is the process of seeing, feeling and engaging with the……moment.

I think that’s it.

Engaging with the moment.

To feel I am part of something that adds values to my life and something I can contribute too.

Engaging with life.

That’s all there is
