2020 Vision | A Portrait of Maida Vale

Maida Vale is the most beautiful part of West London.

Subjective as my opinion may be…..I feel this deeply.

Maida Vale Station is the focal point for me from which the magical adventure begins. When you come out, turn right and walk straight you will be heading towards Abbey Road.

Straight ahead and you will pass Starbucks towards Paddington Recreation aground. The surrounding neighbourhood is an enchanting display of homes, apartments and residential flats.

Elgin Avenue is The Motor Show - full of classic cars

It’s quite a collection.

Here’s a few of my favourites.

The centre piece of Maida Vale is our Park - Paddington Recreation Ground.

Having grown up in this neighbourhood, I have seen this park transform. The open green landscape was once a Cycle Track with a concrete frame all around the perimeter. Now it’s a green landscape which adds to the ambience of the environment.

I was hoping to create one image that really communicated the magic of this environment and our relationship with it.

I was not expecting this moment, but I am so grateful for it.

This communicated, peace, stillness and total safety in the environment.

I try my best to create images that brings dignity and respect to the land, animals and of course people.

This image is exactly the kind of moment I was after.

An expression of the environment and our place within the context of this magnificent landscape we call home.

Finally, let’s pay tribute to the sentient life forms who bring us so much joy, even for me as an visual story teller.

In my next instalment, I will looking to capture the most important element of my neighbourhood, “The Community”.
