2020 Vision | Committment Vs Attachment

After the birthday fun and games, an 80 year old has adjust to life…again.

Dementia has its own rhythm and schedule.

It plays no favourites.

One thing I have learned is to surrender to this brutal experience, let it be exactly what it is, don’t make it any worse and position myself in a place to contribute, serve and love.

Total commitment without any attachment to any specific outcome because there is no outcome worthy of looking forward to.

That’s the reality of being a Carer.

As Viktor Frankle distinguished in his book; “when there is no meaning left to create, the last and final victory is knowing you endured, enduring without breaking is victory in itself”.
