2020 Vision | Epic Vision

I really love the epic field of view that comes with a 24mm on a Full Frame.

It feels epic and yet not overwhelmingly exaggerated.

Foreground interest is a must; it sets the context for the storytelling composition.

Here is my XPro2 paired with the stunning XF16mm F2.8. 16mm on the XPro2 gives me 24mm and it is perfect.

I was tempted by the XF16mm F1.4 - I decided to wait. It’s little brother is fantastic and punches big time above it’s weight.

For me, 24mm is the sweet spot plus, I am looking for story telling compositions. This means epic depth of field.

My Aperture will be set anywhere from F11 right up to F22 with my hyper focal distance set to 1 meter. This guarantees epic front to back sharpness.

As a street Lens, the F2.8 is sharp and operates perfectly from F5.6 to F.11. I normal leave it around F8.

Getting close is key.

My XPro2 Kit is complete: 16mm F2.8, 23mm F2, 35mm F2 and the 50mm F2 . That’s my travel set up right there. I would Travel the world with two bodies and those four beauties no problem.

Seeing the world though this Lens takes me into another realm.

This Lockdown and Pandemic has crippled our expression. Photography has supported me to see deeper and wider.

It has given me a new sense of energy, for this I am grateful for for.

Thanks for reafing
