2020 Vision | Manual Labour

Self Portrait Day 8-Gratitude:

After creating this image, I packed all my Lights and stands away.

I felt grateful and content. I had a feeling come over me which communicated to me that it’s all ok.

I know what I am doing.

I am competent and achieving a good standard of effectiveness with my crafts; magic and photography.

I love practicing. I practice because I love the process - the journey towards a high standard of competency is beautiful.

This means my audience and my portrait clients will experience something beautiful from me.

Setting up the lights is pure labour.

It has to be done quietly, patiently and peacefully - don’t bother me, let me get on with it - this is my work.

Creating the images, positioning the Lights is also labour intensive, it’s a study in Light Patterns and its impact.

Self Portraits means up and down like a yo yo.

I practice on myself so that when you come to my studio, all you need to do is relax and surrender.

I know exactly what I am doing.

With every image I create, God speaks to me through the glory of Light.
