2020 Vision | The Subject Of Light

“Let there be Light”.

Epic.

Immortal words.

When first spoken, it set in motion an extraordinary process of creation.

The subject is, has and always will be about Light.

To paint with Light, is to hold in your hand the creative expression of our source, the inspiration of our creator.

Light is the source of Life.

Yesterday evening, I left the house with the intention of creating some Long Exposures, I ended up creating images of Buildings.

I was paying attention to the position of The Sun.

It’s direction and quality was soft and Gold looking.

The more I observerd, the more the Light became my subject.

This process become more about the impact, the Light was having on the Buildings.

I did not leave home with this intention.

I was taken by something.

It was almost like the Light saying, “you have ignored me long enough”.

I can say m, something has shifted in my Image Creation.

It has take me 7 years to finally get it.

Light, Glorious Light.

“Light makes photography. Embrace light. Admire it. Love it. But above all, know light. Know it for all you are worth, and you will know the key to photography”.

George Eastman

This expression by Mr Kodak, George Eastman woke me up.

It was playing on my mind.

My subconscious took over yesterday and directed me towards a very critical point in my education.

Long Exposure can wait, tonight, we study the Light.
