2020 Vision | A Perfect Combination

The XPRO 2 fits my hands perfectly.

The XT1 is just a bit too small for my magician hands.

The X100F is also too small, with a grip it improves slightly the comfort factor.

I mention all of this economics because the last thing on my mind with the Xro2 is the fact I am holding a big ass camera.

It’s a hulk of a beast and feels gutsy.

It is perfect.

Now, let’s talk about Lens shall we.

Every XF Lens I own is dam perfect on The XPro2….Perfect.

I am currently back on The Artisan 35mm F1.2

This Lens is a gem.

The Mount fits the XF System and on my XPro2 it’s a dream team.

I read many reviews and just decided to test it because the reviews were not overly favourable.

Nonsense, I have discovered that the character of each Lens I own must be fully understood and a relationship built through courting and nurturing. In Photographic terms this means shooting with a Lens for at least 30 days.

35mm is a normal view for me so I know my placement and comfortable zooming with my feet.

My secret weapon specifically with this Little Rock Star is Zone Focusing.

Aperture set between F8 and F16

Pre-Focus between 3 and 5 meters: my depth of field is now full explosive from 2 and half meters towards infinity.

In Camera settings set to Focus Peaking Red.

All I need to do is observe Life and create images.

Finally, shot wide open at 1.2 gives me a dreamy shallow depth of field.

The XPro 2 is perfect for me.

It feels right, my responsiveness is becoming intuitive. The last piece of the puzzle is the right Lens.

The Fujicron F2 Family are perfect for this range finder.

F16 f2.8 for Cityscape, Streetscapes and Landscape and the occasional full Length Portrait.

35mm F2 for Street Photography

50mm F2 for Portraits.

The exception to this are the 18mm F2 which I love and my Samurai Sword The Magical 90mm.

I use The 90mm on my XPro2 with no problems.

It feels like the 55-200mm so I am comfortable with it as my magical Portrait Lens.

So, today’s message is about discovering a groove and vibe with my tools.

It’s the same for my work as a magician.

Tally Ho Circle and Fan Backs are my favourites. A Deck of Cards is my instrument of choice.

My tools are a part of me.

They feel at home in my hands and I feel at ease ready to go to work and express my vision.

Thanks for reading.
