Archive Memories

My Archive is my happy place.

It is here that I can connect with the joy of my life. The privilege of traveling to far flung places. I wouldn’t have had these experiences if wasn’t for my career in Magic.

These first few images were created in Tandil. This town is a five hour drive south of Beunos Aries. It was a long drive, but so worth the experience.

A lot of my happy moments are connected my work performing. I started documenting my Travels with my first DSLR, The Nikon D90. I always create images of the venues where I work. These images where in Belgium and the UK at very exclusive venues.

Without realising it, I have become a Travel Photographer / Photojournalist. My Photography is deeply rooted in The Photo Essay - think Gordon Parks & his work for LIFE MAGAZINE.

I have no training in this; it just evolved through this daily Journal. So, I will use several images from my Travels to document my narrative.

My Archive has revealed to me who I am. I see myself through my images. All of my images are a self portrait. Standing on The Great Wall of China was a thrilling experience. It took my breath away to see this man made structure extend as far as I could see.

Seattle, Vancouver and Olympic National Park was a feature rich encounter with nature. This part of the USA is truly beautiful.

Paris is on my doorstep - Euro Star is at St.Pancras, 30 minutes from my home.

A two hour train ride from London means a weekend trip to a fantastic city will not disappoint my Camera or Vision.

2019 was my last trip, Italy was the destination.

I am still kicking myself for not photographing that magnificent staircase inside The Vatican Museum, it completely slipped my mind. I was saw overwhelmed by Michelangelo’s Fresco in The Sistine Chapel & his sublime Pieta.

A Day trip to Naples was fantastic.

Naples was full of history making it very photogenic. It is also on the coast so the Harbour contrast beautifully with the town centre.

This retrospective has been a reminder why I got a camera in the first place. I felt my life was worthy of being documented. The People, Place, Cultures around the world left me humbled. My Camera was my golden key that unlocked the door to an extraordinary adventure.
