35mm CF | Paddington Basin

The Paddington Basin has become a spectacular site and playground.

The regeneration has made it a very fashionable place to live, work, relax and for me, create images.

This is where The Grand Union Canal ends or begins depending on where you live. This long snaking Canal cuts through the landscape as far as Oxford.

The surrounding area is pure lush with greenery, shops, a mini lake and relaxing area…..on the water.

The Canal passes my home so its a lovely walk to Little Venice. The last week and a half has been full of mixed feelings because my Mother is at St.Mary’s Hospital.

I visit her here everyday.

Walking through Little Venice calms my spirit. In spite of my sadness, I can still be present to the privilege of living in a beautiful part of London.

The Paddington Basin is a wonderful counter point to The West End. It possess a calm energy and an invitation to stop and be still.

Being near water promotes a calmness of being and stillness of spirit.

This is part of the reason why I love it here.

Life on the river.

A beautiful way to live.

“In the stillness of your presence, you can feel your own formless and timeless reality as the unmanifested life that animates your physical form. You can then feel the same life deep within every other human and every other creature. You look beyond the veil of form and separation. This is the realization of oneness. This is love”.
