The Craft of Photography

Photography is a wonderful craft and technical discipline. This study and practice is on going and never ending.

The different genres, subject matters and projects all come with its own subset of skills and creative expression💫.

If I lived in the country side, there is no question or doubt in my mind, I would be up early to catch the morning sunrise. I have studied the techniques applicable to Landscape Photography and applied it to my urban environment.

I am glad I did the study because when I was in Seattle, I was able to create this image of Mount Ranier.

Street Photography is another genre of this craft which I feel I have become much better at. In this one genre, we have Documentary, Street Portraits, Candid Moments, City and Environmental Scape possibilities.

When it comes to Street Photography, my expression is wide open. I have no agenda, I simply go out expecting life to surprise me.

Tonight, I was enchanted by the Light.

I was also enchanted by the presence of life, but no people.

After last weeks Carnival, I felt a strong affinity with Photojournalism. Telling a story through immersive visual imagery really spoke to me.

I will be exploring this field a bit more.
