50mm | The Wider View

The 50mm Lens offers up a suprising versatility when shooting wider scenes.

The ability to create a wider scene gives me a vision that matches my eyes without any optical trickery.

With a 50mm and creating several Frames to be stitched in Lightroom, I am left with a vision of what I saw. No compression, no illusion of depth.

My eyes see wide at 28mm and long at 70mm - this is my natural vision.

Technique is everything.

Vision first and then making my tools work for me.

Many photographers use the 50mm to create landscape images.

Why not?

It's a good choice if you have the space to move and create the frame.

The 50mm could be the one Lens to rule all.

Wildlife may be a challenge and yet, from a safe vantage point, it could be used for an environmental frame.

I like the 50mm Lens, I can't quite say it's my favourite, I am leaning more towards the 40mm.

I am warming to the versatility of the 50mm.

To be continued.
