55-200mm

I read many reviews and opinions about this Lens.

Many points of view were relatively favourable. When compared to the XF50-140, no comparison.

I don’t own the 50-140mm Lens.

I cannot compare.

The longest reach I have in my XF tool box is the 55-200mm

And I love it.

This Lens is my 70-300mm that I once used on my Nikon D90. I don’t know what the fuss is about because this XF beauty is a keeper.

In fact, I have decided to pair it with my 18-55mm for a complete Travel Kit.

Tomorrow, I travel to Germany for a Zauber Conference for Magicians and these two Lens are all I am taking along with my Zadox Speed Light and Trigger.

I would have taken an extra body - my XT1 to avoid changing Lens. My bag is heavy with magician props so I will make do with my Xpro2.

My brain automatically switches to Telephoto mode once this Lens is on the camera. So it’s no problem. Once I get to Germany, I will know which lens to use.

The 55-200mm is a sharp fully practical Lens.

The images render beautifully to my eye.

My secret weapon is my Shutter Speed and Aperture in relation to the Light and time of day.

The Full Frame equivalent is 83-304mm so I multiply 304 x 2 to give me 604. I know my top Shutter Speed will need to be 1/500 or higher with a decent depth of field to give me a sharp image. This accounts for the light and also my ISO.

I consider this Lens to be a walk about Lens with good light, even overcast can work with decent ISO.

I am happy with this set up for Travel.

Stand by.

All images from Luebeck will feature this Lens and the 18-55mm

Stay tuned.
