56mmm

Happy Days in more ways than one😃

My XF 56mm F1.2 became unusable.

The Lens Mount became faulty, the Aperture Ring stopped clicking and became ver loose-became useless.

It's an expensive piece of glass and I had not given it much usage from first audition. Fuji Film Uk repaired it and now I have it back in good working order.

It a magnificent Lens - I had forgotten what a marvellous tool this is.

This 85mm FF equivalent field of view match's my telephoto perfectly. It feels natural to what I see when looking off into the distance.

85mm is considered effective Portrait distance for a flattering render of the human face.

It is really lovely.

The 56mm/85mm has now become my secret weapon during my Street Photography. Specifically for……..CANDID MOMENTS.

This is my discipline; candid moments are about super fast reaction time to a story unfolding. I also discovered, this speed of reaction works best in Shutter Speed Priority. When using this Lens, I am happy in good light with 1/500 up 1/10000 sec. I notice here in London the days are overcast so my Aperture comes in just under F4. I let the auto ISO do its thing and live with it.

Candid moments are a response to the expression of life. People being fully self expressed, picking out moments that capture me and framing these moments. The 56mm is a perfect Lens for this.

I am very happy to have my Lena back.

This journal is my daily respite to losing my hearing. Being deaf is no fun - so being able to still engage with life through my daily writings and sharing my visions of my days is a blessing.

Thank you for reading.
