A Little Piece of Heaven

I have been documenting my neighbourhood for the last 9 years. I create images everyday of some element of what is home to me.

Its the little details now that add up to a glorious narrative about Maida Vale, my home.

Its amazing to think this part of London got its name because of a War in Italy.

The story goes, in 1806, British Soldiers led by Sir John Stuart did Battle in the Napoleonic War at the town of Maida in Calabria, Italy.

A Pub in the area is called The Hero of Maida Vale - right at the end of my road.

The Hero of Maida, is a tribute to commander Sir John Stuart.

I went to The Pub today to get a little more background information. They allowed me to create a few images of the impressive interior.

I have lived in this area since 1969-70. It is a very affluent part of West London.

Quiet, peaceful, classy with a good mix of nationalities living in the area.

This neighbourhood has retained its charm and quiet dignity.

This is my little piece of heaven on earth.

The local Coffee shops id where you wi find me most days.

Come and join me at Billys place.

This is my Sanctuary for Cards & Coffee.

See you there.
