A Perfect Pairing

The X-Pro 1 & The Viltrox 33mm 1.4 make for a perfect partnership.

I am fortunate to have a nice collection of XF Lens for my work. As a Semi Professional Event, Portrait & Travel Photographer, I have the right tools for any assignment.

As a Portrait Lens, it delivers; this image of my friend Richard showcases how well the Lens and 1st Generation Sensor work well together to render gorgeous colours.

As a walk about everyday kit, it gives a perfect Frame, with a well defined optical rendering.

This 33mm Lens in 35mm terms gives us a 49mm / 50mm Frame. This is considered the standard view.

I have documented before my feelings about this; The Classic Standard Frame is 35mm so it stands to reason the matching optics be a 35mm Lens.

This is my opinion so the 50mm field of view is a subject specific Lens with very little context. This is how I use my 50mm, subject rendering with my Aperture not more the F8. For Portraits/ Head & Shoulders, my Aperture is no higher than F4.

It has taken me a while to fully come to terms with the 50mm field of view - I think it makes available the potential for a beautiful Frame. A worthy subject matter is a first requirement.

Due to its tight field of view, I like using this outdoors. Room is required to participate with the scene.

Every Lens carries a unique signature.

The Viltrox 33mm 1.4 is a beautiful Lens.

Thanks reading.
