A World of Magic in South Korea

I am currently writing this story in Busan, South Korea. I am at the World Championships for Magicians.

This is FISM; the Fédération Internationale des Sociétés Magiques - this is the international body which brings together the world’s leading magic societies. Being British, The Magic Circle is a part of this organisation.

My presence here is a big deal and milestone in my career. I was asked to be one of the principle judges at the 2018 tournament. I am presiding over the performances in Close-Up, Parlour, Micro Magi & Card Magic.

Competitors from all around the world are competing for the prestigious title FISM CHAMPION.

This event is being hosted by the city of Busan and Bexco Exhibition Centre.

This Venue is HUGE and very impressive with enough room to facilitate the various competitions, Lectures, live talks and gala shows.

One of the major factors of any Convention is the dealers selling and sharing the latest development in magic technology.

Today, I got to witness the extraordinary skill of card expert Richard Turner. Richard is blind and yet his skill, touch and finesse is off the charts brilliant.

So far, my photography has been limited to creating images at this event. This is fine, the surrounding area is full of imposing architecture, BBQ Restaurants and the odd moment of candid magic waiting to be captured.

I will follow up this blog with more images. For now, I like South Korea, my Xpro2 has not missed a beat.

Stay tuned
