Back To Basics | Enjoying My X100T

When push comes to shove, keeping things simple in life is key to stress free living. This is why, hand on heart, I love my X100T.

The Battery Life SUCKS.

So what, I have 8 Batteries.

On a good day, I can create images aggressively.

Plus the fact, I transfer images to my phone to share directly to Instagram means faster drainage on power so 8 Batteries is reasonable.

I would love the F but my T would feel……..jelouse 😉

We have cultivated a great partnership.

She really delivers because I understand her buttons and know which ones to……push.

In looking at these images, I cannot tell if it was an XT1 or XPro2 - the quality of the images straight out of camera is consistently fantastic.

These images were created with the TelePhoto Converter attached to my X100T. It’s a monster of a set up - as far as I am concerned, that doesn’t matter. I have a 50mm field of view and the results are stunning.

This Camera with the Wide & Tele- Converters gives me a set up that I can travel with and experience zero weight problem.

In this one compact set up, I have a focal range that covers the 23mm from the camera without any converters attached. With Converters attached, my camera now sees in FF/EQ at 28mm at the Wide end and 50mm at the Long end.

As you know the 23mm equals the classic field of view of 35mm which my eye and brain have become accustomed to.

So with this range, I can cover quite an interesting range of subjects.

This is an ideal travel set up.

Finally.

I love faces and with the Teleconverter attached, I have a decent and effective combination for street portraits.

This shot of mom, using natural window light and an F2 Aperture with a 1/125th sec exposure at ISO 3200 makes for a decent well exposed Portrait.

With the speed of progress in the world of technology, the products we purchased years ago can appear out of date and our emotions blind sided along with gear acquisition syndrome.

I am guilty of falling into this trap.

I am astounded by how much photographic gear I now own. I am considering selling off stuff I don’t need or use.

I can say with certainty, my X100T is with me forever.

It’s a photographic love affair like no other.
