Colour Science & Magic

It’s all about Colour for me.

I do have Black & White Moments; it depends on the Project, like my Coffee Shop Moments Series.

Converting these Colour Images to Black & White is about focusing on the stillness of individuals in Coffee Shops.

My passion for Colour wins every time. Living in the United kingdom means being ready for the climate to change.

We are in Spring now so the warmth of Spring Light really adds to the depth of my Colours.

I am using my X-Pro 1 and D700 again.

This means both of these Cameras possess a magical sensor which renders the most gorgeous Colours I have ever seen.

Can you tell which Camera created which image? I promise you, the images in this Blog Post were created using both Cameras.

Fuji Film has led the way for decades in their understanding of Colour Science when 35mm Film was the only option long before the digital revolution. This technology has filtered its way down into all of their digital Camera Models. Nikon has their own approach to Colour Science; I must be honest and say the D700 is the only Camera that matches the files of The X-Pro 1.

The Raw Files edit perfectly to my eyes taste; rich colour without over saturation.

I like to work with two Camera Bodies when I hit the Streets; the X-Pro 1 & The Nikon D700 are my Dream Team Combination. As for Lens choice, one Wide & One Long. This means a Nikkor 28mm D on my D700 and the stunning XF35mm 1.4 or the XF56mm on the X-Pro 1.

Tomorrow promises to be a warm day.

To be continued.
