End of Year Moments

It's the Eve before New Years Eve and I am reviewing my images and evaluating my approach to creating images.

My choice of Lens has fluctuated between 18mm /28mm and the classic 23mm -35mm eq.

Seeing space is my natural vision.

I discovered that a great scenery worthy of a wide angle Lens is fine and in many cases worthy of documenting. This is the travel photographer within me speaking. However, I am attracted to moments and detail that captures the essence and expression of life.

I really love the flexibility of a zoom Lens.

I can set my focal length as required for my subject and then zoom with my feet. This flexibility feels very natural to my way of working. I only use my fast prime lens more here in London simply because my daylight hours are very short. It gets dark around 4pm so my Zooms like my 18-135mm 3.5-5.6 loses their light gathering power as soon as light levels drop. The 18-135mm is a wonderful Lens. It delivers great images on my X-T1.

I am happy knowing I can use my gear and create good looking images no matter what.

My goals for 2025 is to really get closer and document with real intimacy with my Images. This means being much more courageous and daring with documenting.

Getting closer mean equals intimacy.
