F22: Magic In Winchester

My friend Matt lives in Winchester.

I decided to pay him a visit today.

I felt the strong urge to get out of London and experience something different. This lockdown has killed my enthusiasm to socialise so I am very selective now about who I spend time with.

I connected with Matt through Instagram.

He is a fine and talented magician. So we are a part of each other’s online community.

Matt and his mother Lucy met me at the station and it was big thrill for the three of us to meet each other.

We enjoyed a nice brunch, chatted and consolidated getting to know each other. Online engagement is fine but it’s not real.

Face to face sharing is real and requires emotional effort and a willingness to be vulnerable. This is the beginning of friendship and love♥️.

Matt was my tour guide - he shared his city with me and we both enjoyed creating images.

I traveled light today with one camera and one lens. The XF16mm F2.8

I love this Lens.

It delivers perfect images when used correctly. This Lens is my scene stealer and I use it with epic sharpness in mind.

This Lens and its Wide Angle properties, to me, is all about using small Apertures; F8 right up to F22 - this is where I live.

Winchester is very photogenic and worthy of creating images that does justice to this famous City.

The Cathedral is gorgeous.

The grounds were busy with people hanging out - sitting on the grass. Everyone was pretty laid back.

I felt very relaxed and at peace.

As a Professional Magician, I have Lectured in Winchester and this was my first time seeing the city at large.

All in all, a very enjoyable day out.

Oh, Matt and I managed to indulge in a little sleight of hand.

That’s a given.

With a journey time of one hour, it felt very easy and relaxing.

Thanks for reading
