Five Paces & Create

I walk five paces

Stop.

I start scanning my surroundings looking for where the light is falling.

Repeat.

This is an interesting visual training process, because I normally just walk until something catches my attention.

Here, no.

I am actively seeking, something.

Light first.

Colour.

Texture .

One exercise my coach passed on was to choose a subject and zoom with my feet using a 50 mm Lens.

Allow breathing space around the image and create.

This is a great study in understanding the visual optics of my Lens.

This image above shows the contrast in distance and my physical participation.

The best zoom in the world are my two legs.

If only wild animals were easily approachable. 😂

Finally;

I am appreciating that the best part of an image has no light.

The relationship between light and shade creates tension and builds the narrative.
