Humanism | The Individual Revolution

Humans have survived 1000s of years of one revolution after another.

The most profound revolution was the ability to stand up and walk freely.

This meant survival, growth and expansion for The Human Being.

The Industrial Revolution meant The Human Being could express himself or herself through the context of big business and global creative relationships.

We now find ourselves in the grip of The Matrix. The Information Revolution has now become the number one platform for probably the most critical revolution of all; The Revolution of The Individual.

The Internet & Social Media is the ultimate platform for Individual Self Expression.

Welcome to The Matrix.

This is it.

There is no turning back from this.

Humanism in Photography has gripped me now because while I was out today in the west end, my thoughts drifted towards this specific conversation.

I felt in my heart this conversation about individualism, self expression, being unique in this world is now the ultimate COMPETITION.

LOOK AT ME?

LOOK AT WHERE I AM?

LOOK AT WHAT I CAN DO?

LOOK AT MY LIFE.

One word drives this reality.

ATTENTION

The desire to seek attention and be significant is driving force that propels the human being into extraordinary action.

This is it.

No turning back.

As for me, I choose to live quietly, no shouting, just a quiet expression of my life, energy and passions.

I choose to live this way down in the valley where mother earth sustains me.

The individual has always had to struggle to keep from being overwhelmed by the tribe. If you try it, you will be lonely often, and sometimes frightened. But no price is too high to pay for the privilege of owning yourself.
