IWA Canalway Cavalcade

Today was really interesting.

It was the start of the Inland Waterways Cavalcade.

This celebration of community life takes place every year on The May Day Bank Holiday. It brings together the community of Little Venice who choose to live on The Grand Union Canal.

I missed it last year and the year before due to Covid. I was very happy attending every day for the last three days. It represented a fresh opportunity to see something interesting and documenting it.

I was delighted to see my friend John Styles.

John is a fantastic entertainer, Magician and expert on Punch & Judy Puppetry. His show was wonderful; all the children and their families loved it.

The entire Paddington Basin was taken over by a wide variety of food stalls and activities.

The German Sausages were delicious.

The local community really let their hair down and celebrated like there was no tomorrow. After two years of lockdown, this is what our community needed.

Little Venice is my neighbourhood. Its a very beautiful part of London.
