Morning Ritual

My morning ritual is my saviour.

My mother was sleep walking at 06:30 - being her Carer, this meant one thing. So I was up early and I was mopping up the kitchen floor half asleep.

I put mum back to bed, had a cup of tea and then my shower. I went out to greet the morning light.

The morning light calms my heart and spirit.

She says good morning with a gentle compassion, I feel her love and support.

Sean Tucker has written a wonderful book looking at the human need to create. This chapter looks at “Attention”. What he has documented is the story of my life. I am enjoying this book, a chapter to read every morning over my coffee.

After my coffee at my Bakery, I went for a walk through my Secret Garden.

I walk slowly through here because the air is fresh. I breath slowly and deeply because the oxygen is clean and pure - total gratitude to my Trees for sustaining my existence.

I love this time - walking, breathing, aware - camera in hand and just greatfull for being able see and be present to life.

I allow life to be.

Jay Maisel inspired me with his belief of just being ready and open to receive from life.

Allow life to come to you.

Pretty soon, the confusion of old age will visit all of us.

I can only hope, when my time comes, there is some around who loves me enough to watch over me.

My Mother needs me now.

Dementia sucks
