MW | Throwback

Not too long ago, Black & White was the norm.

One Camera.

One Lens……a 50mm.

and

a roll of Film….Black & White.

So, if this was all there was, there was nothing else to worry about.

The great masters of this medium simply went out and created images.

I attempted to replicate this model today.

I used my X-Pro 1 paired with my 28mm F2.

The X-Pro 1 is the closest tool I have to a Film Camera.

I can control my Aperture on the Lens.

Shutter Speed and ISO is controlled on the Camera Body.

I shot in Raw Mode to replicate the Film like experience because these Digital Files needed to be processed after the fact.

What I find interesting is the notion the great masters lived in a world of colour, they used what they had and didn’t complain.

They made it work.

They created images that are highly regarded today.

This is why I love using my X-Pro 1.

Its a very old Digital Camera - it has an analogue feel to it. It encourages me to become thoughtful, contemplative and considerate in how I create.

To be continued.

Thanks for reading.
