My Natural Vision is Back

I was very happy when Zain, my DPD delivery man dropped off my Box today.

My XF18mm F2 has been repaired by Fujifilm Uk. I am over the moon; I love this Lens and have missed using it.

This Lens is over 10 years old; there is a new version which I hear is stunning. I hope to test it someday.

For now, I am delighted my F2 has been repaired. It had an issue with The Focus Motor. The Lens feels snappy and agile on my XT1.

The 28mm Field of view was championed by Gary Winogrand. It’s slightly wider than a 35mm and yet it still feels normal to me. I really came to terms with this field of view while documenting The Notting Hill Carnival. I used my Nikon D700 with an 28-70mm f3.5-4.5D Lens.

The 28-70mm is the Full Frame version of my XF18-55mm F2.8-4. This was a life changing moment for me. My relationship with this field of view changed for ever.

Getting close to subjects is no longer an issue. I rather step closer than not have enough room to step backwards.

So this has cheered me up a little.

Creating images, documenting life as I see it is all part of my psychological and emotional rebuild after losing my mother.

When she was able to walk, I took her to the park to see the Squirrels, she loved it.

The XF 18mm F2 has served me well in creating happy memories.

“what greater thing is there for two human souls than to feel that they are joined - to strengthen each other - to be at one with each other in silent unspeakable memories”.
