Natural Vision At 18mm

Finding a Lens that matches my natural field of view is a god send. The XF18mm 1.4 sees exactly as a full frame 28mm. This is how I see, wide with depth.

This normal and yet wide field of view gives a lot of flexibility when shooting because by zooming with my feet to get in close, I can create a frame that looks and feels like a 35mm frame.

To get in closer gives me the look and feel of a 50mm singular theme frame.

The 28mm field of view demands getting close for the wide composition - foreground interest is required to open up the visual narrative.

I love this visual expression, it feels correct and I forget I am using it, I simply know how to use it to full effect.

This is my natural vision.
