Portraits from the Streets

This was another magical moment.

These two lovely ladies stop me in Portobello today and asked me to take their photograph using their camera.

I kindly obliged, when they thanked me, I heard an accent.

I said, “where are you from”?

They said Spain.

I instantly greeted then both in my simple Spanish.

They liked the image I created on their camera and I said “may I create a photograph of them? I am doing a project on “Tourist in London”.

This is the image I created on my X-Pro2 with the 35mm 1.4.

They LOVED IT.

The girl in glasses asked me for a copy.

I said give me two minutes, I will connect my camera to my phone.

Through the magic of Wifi and a Fuji world class camera that talks to my iPhone, I transferred the image over and emailed it straight to her.

What is the point behind this experience?

It is so beautiful that I can connect with complete strangers, enjoy a short exchange of humanity, create a gorgeous image like this and share it.

This image is straight out of camera no processing.

We live in a world of immediacy now, information is updated in seconds, we have to stay ahead of the curve, respond to life’s demands NOW.

Let’s not forget the power of making connections, this is a treasure beyond price.

People find meaning and redemption in the most unusual human connections.
