Project 23mm | Filming in Adghal - Day 4

Day Four in Lebanon has been quite an adventure.

Pascal and I spent the day up in the mountains of Faytroun. Built within this mountain range is the most extraordinary site I have ever seen.

Welcome to Adghal.

This a restaurant built into the mountain range complex.

Visualise if you can having a meal in a tree house on the edge of a cliff. I felt like Tarzan as I navigated my way up to the top of the cliff escarpment.

The steps and rope bridge was the access to the different dinning rooms. It was quite beautiful. Certainly different to anything I have ever encountered. The mountain scenery created a stunning back drop to this incredible feat of engineering.

Adghal is the creation of Pierre.

He owns the place and is running it with a dedicated team.

His son PJ and daughter Roxanne add their creative flare to this family run business.

So far, my stay here has been exceptional.

I have enjoyed the Lebanese way of life, the social and family brotherhood. Being excepted by everyone has been lovely. This has allowed me access to creating these images. Everyone so far has been very open in allowing me to create their images.

One of the local customs has been smoking.

Arguile, or Hookah as it is called is a very interesting social activity.

The Arguile is filled with Tambak or Tobacco and set alight and the smoking begins.

The smoke that comes out fills the room and makes for a dramatic image.

This is my friend Tony in full Puff.

My filming today was an interview with Pascal. This video will be posted in You Tube very soon. The intention of this video is to inspire magicians through my stories, my adventures in magic, sharing about my heroes. It was incredible, Pascal, Tony and Tino did a great job.

I managed to create a stir today with people. I had some great moments and photographs taken.

During my interview, Pascal asked me what job would I do if I weren’t a magician?

Without missing a beat, I said Photojournalist.

This is my muse, my calling, to tell visual stories about our world and the people I share this planet with. Being here in Lebanon has revealed to my why I love creating images so much.

Our humanity is past the tipping point of hope. We must do all we can to readdress the balance of love, hope and possibility.

All I have experienced since I have been here is love, warmth, friendship and humanity.

I hope my visual stories makes you feel that our humanity is worth fighting for.
