Project 23mm | From Jounieh With Love - Day 7

I have arrived home from Lebanon safe and sound.

In reflecting on my week here, I feel deep sense of gratitude for having had this experience.

What made it so special for me was memories of on news about the conflict and suffering this country experienced when I was a boy.

Bring here, I experienced a country and culture at peace through its people, I experienced, love, warmth, humanity and deep friendship.

This image is of my friends: Roderick, Dominique and Pascal. These are my brothers and sister - I LOVE THEM WITH ALL MY HEART.

On my last night, I encountered two delightful ladies enjoying the evening on the balconies, they were very friendly.

Pascal told them I was a photographer and I would love to create their image. It was a simple as that.

The young lady with the camera is Judy.

She was creating images of the lovely couple celebrating the engagement. I caught these moments and I was astounded by the openness of everyone. It was a good vibe.

On the way to the Airport today, I created a few more memories of Lebanon.

It was very bright today and shooting into the sun created a sharp contrast between the Mosque and the deep blue sky.

My shot of the day features the statue of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

Jesus welcomed us into his house of prayer. Me, Pascal and Rody took a moment to be still and quite, said our prayed before leaving. It was perfect.

My final image is this Rainbow Steps which I thought was just lovely.

So my week in Lebanon creating images with one camera and one lens really proved to me how powerful and creative we become when we choose to challenge ourselves with less kit.

The 23mm is a beautiful and agile Lens. On the XPro2, it feels like a gutsy X100T. If I had to travel with one other Lens, it would be my Telephoto 55-200mm because I did notice a few moments that were a little out of reach which was fine. I let it go and focused on what I had and could create.

That a wrap.

Stay tuned, my next project will be going wider with the 14mm

Cheers.
