Seeing Possibilities

Yesterday I was creating images for a cultural event and left my camera in Program Mode.

I am continuing my commentary of expanding my vision. Today my X-Pro 2 was paired with the amazing XF50mm F2.

I love this combination because it matches my natural vision and gives me what I see. My relationship to subject distance is natural, this means one less thing to think about while creating images in Program Mode.

One thing I have noticed with this exercise is how much I forget about the camera; the only adjustments I have been making has been to my Exposure Compensation. Apart from this, it has simply been an adventure in seeing frame worthy possibilities.

Program Mode allows me some flexibility with my Aperture and Shutter Speed.

I am now considering when would I make use of this Program Setting.

It occurs to me that Program Mode and Street Photography are a perfect match. Being aware on the streets, engaging with life without any concern for Camera setting feels perfect. With the flexibility of adjusting the Aperture in this mode it seems like a perfect option vs Aperture Priority.

This is how I have been shooting these last few days - it feels perfectly natural.

Seeing possibilities comes to life with an unfettered mind.

I feel like I have added another component to my photographic tool box.

To be continued
