The Fuji XF90mm F2

I recently acquired The Fuji XF 90mm F2.

I think this may be my favourite Fuji Lens.

The XF35mm 1.4 has stolen my heart for day to day image creation - however, the XF90mm has been on my Bucket List for some time now simply because I just love Faces.

Portraits is my things, especially of random strangers.

I desired a Lens that would bring out the magic and expression in the Faces of my Subjects. The XF 56mm does this; the XF90mm has a something special about it.

In Full Frame terms, the XF90mm gives me a field of view equal to 135mm which is classic Portrait territory.

The result at F 2 is simply stunning.

I regard this Lens as my Samurai Sword now when mounted on my XT1. Yes XT1, while everyone is getting bent out of shape with the latest and greatest XT4, my XT1 still delivers on promise and with a gorgeous Lens.

I grabbed a few additional shots and moments today to test the Bokeh and sharpness at various Apertures. To be honest, I couldn’t tell the difference in sharpness from F2 - F5.6, this Lens is one SHARP SWORD.

WOW

The Bokeh is dreamy, soft and seductive.

This Lens is light as a feather to me with all the benefits of a powerful Telephoto that I would feel comfortable using for Travel, People, Places and Culture.

I have no problem getting close to a scene and interacting. This Lens opens up a beautiful context for real Candid Street Photography without disturbing the moment.

The moment is the magic.

Thanks for reading.
