The Study of Colour | Green - The Colour of Life

Green is a Colour I cannot ignore.

It is everywhere.

In my neighbourhood, I don’t have to go searching.

It’s in my immediate field of vision.

It’s the first thing I see when I leave my home.

Next to my Home is a Home for the elderly. The Colour Green is used as a decorative element in the communal area.

When I think of Nature, Green is the primary, dominant Colour that expresses life, sustainability, life giving oxygen and hope.

Maida Vale is a visual paradise of Green.

I had to actively seek out this Colour else where.

Melons, Mangoes and Avocado, all Green, all from Nature.

These three images reveal how the Colour Green is used as decoration and as a colour statement.

My relationship with the Colour Green is rooted in stability. I can see how this Colour has formed a background, a foundation and context for my life and expression.

It is everywhere.

As I type this, I am looking around my Home and I can see the Colour Green in different shades being represented in my Magic Props.

Green is the Colour of my Life.

Thanks for reading.

“All theory, dear friend, is gray, but the golden tree of life springs ever green”.

Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
