The Study of Colour | Orange

Here we have an extraordinary additive.

The Colour Orange sits right between Red & Yellow on The Colour Wheel.

On either side of Orange we have subtle shades moving towards lighter shades of Red & Yellow - Peach Colour or Rose - with a lot more variety.

Todays visual study sits right in the middle with a few visual surprises.

These images took me by surprise - the Colour Orange has been everywhere in my life.

I remember feeling drawn to this Colour at the time I created these moments. The Colour caught my attention, although I was not aware at the time. Being aware right now, I feel the energy of warmth from these images.

Orange = Warmth, Vitality, Energy & Safety.

Today’s Images.

I went out with my Camera just see if anything caught my attention. My first stop was the Fruit & Vegetables Market.

What brought a smile to my face was the realisation that Mother Nature has always provided for us. The Colour Orange comes direct from The Tree of all Knowledge. Man gave us the name, the Label Orange.

On my walk, I caught a few visual suprises.

Yellow + Red = Orange.

There is a Gas Leak on my road - everything cordoned off - the Colour Orange is visible for our safety.

As I created the image of this wall, it struck me how expressive the Colour Red is. The way it looks reminded me of a dirty Orange in Colour. Suddenly, I observed Miss Red Top and Mr Red Pants entering my scene.

I had a big smile on my face; I said hello to them. We had a nice chat, I explained my Photographic Project too them and showed them the photograph above.

The Gentleman was Italian, his name is Umberto. He ask me “what about my photo”.

I created his Portrait, he LOVED IT.

Here’s the best part - I showed him some magic. He gave me a BIG HUG.

The Colour Orange means Joy, humanity, creative expression, fun and happiness.

You don’t need to look far, start in Nature.

“The sky takes on shades of orange during sunrise and sunset, the colour that gives you hope that the sun will set only to rise again”.
