When The Old Becomes New Again

This image was created five years ago on my Canon EOS 500n. It is quite ironic looking at this image now. Back then, while I was interested in Photography, it did not full land me how significant shooting on film would be for me.

I have fully embraced creating images in 35mm film. My Camera gives me the Full Frame experience without the digital expenses of buying a FF Camera.

Printing my images is also an extraordinary part of the process. Seeing and holding an image I have created has given my Photography a much need boost. It has been so easy to get bored and complacent using digital cameras. I experienced and had to work hard to keep my interest high.

Creating images on film has been magical.

My neighbour gave me a very old camera a few years back. This was at the start of my journey and I was ignorant to what he had presented me; it was a Yashica Lynx 500 from around 1966. This old Japanese Camera is in my hands and I am currently learning how to use it.

I can’t help but feel the god’s that may Be are telling me something.

What does this all mean?

Do I surrender the immediacy of digital Photography?

No…

I am a student of this craft just as I am a student of magic. Study, education, knowledge combined with my own exploration and intuitive insights has and continue to support me. Using these wonderful tips analogue or digital is part of my journey. Ultimately, it’s the final image that counts and what I choose to do with it.
