X-Pro 1| A Marvel of Technology

The image above was created last night during the Blue Hour.

My exposure was crap because I didn’t appreciate a simple truth about my X-Pro 1.

For exposures longer than 2 Seconds, with this camera, I needed to be in Bulb Mode. My other cameras automatically adjust my exposure time accordingly.

That’s ok - it did the job.

Today, I created some images with the XF50mm F2 - this Lens is perfect for my eyes. It gives me a perfect distance ratio for whatever subject I am interested in.

Once again, these images have been edited from the RAW files.

Shooting Raw is my favoured approach now on this Camera because it only has one SD Card Slot and no WiFi functionality.

The Raw Files deliver the most beautifully rendered images once edited.

To my eyes, they don’t look digital or clinical.

There is a subtly and humanity to what I see. A gentleness and magical connection.

I am very happy with this old piece of gear - I can’t explain it. It is beautiful. It requires nurturing and patience, but she delivers.

Finally, the expression of colour is truly magical. The colours pop, I don’t need to edit too deeply, it’s right there in the Raw File - just a little push to pop.

My X-Pro 1 is a keeper in my everyday bag.

To be continued.
