X-Pro1 | Understanding Exposure

I have been reading many reviews and watching a few videos on YouTube about the merits of the X-ProI in 2021.

This Camera was released in 2012.

The Technology in this Camera is now considered old compared to the X-Pro System that Fuji has update in the last ten years.

This is extraordinary progress for a Camera Company.

I’m pleased to see that there are photographers out there who really appreciate this Camera as much as I do.

I really love the way the files render.

I’m not technically minded when it comes to how these things work.

I am a kinaesthetic learner and I express myself from my emotions.

To my eye, and my feelings about how these images look, this is pure magic.

I love the images from all the Fuji Cameras, but the X-Pro1 is a little bit special.

I just cannot for the life of me explain why.

I think it has something to do with the Sensor. That’s all you are getting from me.

Over the last few days, I’ve really come to terms with upgrading my understanding of exposure.

All of this began with my confusion of how to use Spot Metering. I have been using my X-Pro1 to practice and deepen my understanding of things.

All of these images were shot in Raw and full Manual Mode. I also experimented using different Metering Modes

These two images where created using Spot Metering. This was a deliberate choice because I want to see how much detail I could preserve in the Highlights and rescue in the Shadows.

The Raw Files are astonishing.

Fuji’s straight out of Camera JPEG’s made me LAZY.

I convinced myself I didn’t want to waste time sitting in front of my computer.

I rather be out shooting…….still do.

My feelings have transformed.

The straight out of Camera JPEG’s are stunning.

Editing Raw is much better.

My understanding of exposure has improved……just a little bit more.

The X-Pro1 is STILL an amazing imaging device. The Fuji System is truly out of this world.
