X100F | Working The Light

The last three days using The X100F has been marvelous.

I have used and enjoyed the Fuji Film Cameras since 2013, they are all wonderful to use and create great looking images.

My focus with the X100F is to get the best out of the Raw Files, this means exposing creatively in camera and with good composition.

My attention is on the Light.

London right now is overcast which means flat Light, no blue Sky, no sun which is obscured by thick clouds. The secret is to create images regardless of the conditions. Flat Light disturbs the pop in my colors, so this means a Black and White Conversation or adding a touch of  Velvia Film Simulation to my edit. I find a little boost and raising White Balance gives my colors a bit of life.

Working the Light regardless of the conditions is part of our training. We must learn to see its direction, feel its quality and create our image within the parameters of what the Light gives us.

Working the Light is an ongoing training.

This is more important than Gear because Photography depends on the one element we have no control over.

Light…

4.6 Billion Years ago, Photography became a possibility with the birth of The Sun.

Let that sink in.
