XF16mm 1.4 | Magical Vision

How a Lens sees and renders a scene has become a very important part of my visual learning. My data base of knowledge has expanded with this hands on visual learning.

In the image above, my X-T1 is fitted with the stunning XF16mm 1.4

This Lens is considers one of Fuji's finest optical performing Lens.

I think it is magnificent.

The 16mm equals 24mm in terms of field of view on a Full Frame Camera. So 24mm is the edge of my Wide Angle Vision, the 28mm & Classic Frame of 35mm are my sweet spots.

Yesterday, I attended a Community Lunch and it just so happened I hand my XF23mm/35mm on my Camera.

This Wide standard Lens is perfect for working indoors because you can get close and fill the frame. The 16mm/24mm is a perfect field of view for capturing the environment and telling a story.

The XF16mm is my choice of Lens for capturing the essence of a place. The human element is not my primary subject, the space and environmental context is the subject. The human element become characters within the frame.

This particular Lens has a secret; it allows me to get really close and fill the frame.

It's a perfect Lens for close up imagery.

My greatest learning has been to learn how each of my Lens work, how they render a scene and most importantly, use the right Lens for the job.

The XF16mm is my choice for telling stories.

Thanks for reading.
