2020 Vision | Observation & Connections

Creating images is much more than manipulating a fancy camera.

Some days, I walk and come home having created a few images that just don’t inspire me.

This bothered me for a while.

I realised that walking and snapping away at anything and everything just wasn’t Photography.

Photography is all about the engagement of my Eyes, Mind, Heart & Spirit.

I had to prove this to myself.

I challenged myself to go out and NOT create a single image UNLESS I felt something in my heart about a given moment.

This was a big turning point in my life.

So, today’s image and commentary is about observation and making connections.

These two elements work together for me because whatever connections I make will be rooted in my data base of memories.

Memories are full of emotional content and this is the point.

Memories with emotion equals images with meaning.

The image of the Motor Bike was created this morning.

I was attracted to the classic retro styling of it. When I saw the name of the Brand, it triggered a strong emotion for me.

Triumph is the name of one of the greatest piece of card magic ever created.

I am a practicing sleight of hand artist and I specialise in card magic ♣️❤️♠️♦️.

This routine came into my life when I was 14 years old.

It was the first serious piece of sleight of hand I would learn; it has become my all time favourite mystery with playing cards.

Card Magic and my Camera are my passions.

I live for telling stories with both.

This is my self-expression.

The images of the Motor Bike is a Triumph of mastery to create such a magnificent piece of engineering.

In my world, Triumph is about a victory of order over chaos.
