2020 Vision | Seeing The Light

Sometimes, I have to create an image just to experience how my cameras sees it, if that makes any sense.

This moment caught my attention because of the low angle of the Sun.

It was perfect light as my eyes saw it.

So, I thought, create an image.

Next to studying to be a Magician, studying Photography has been more important to me than all the crappy Academic nonsense I was forced to learn at school.

Non of my Teachers cared enough to ask me what I was interested in, they forced on me a diet of Academic Crap that had no baring on my life.

Once I started reading Magic Books, I had a profound awakening.

I realised, I am my best own Teacher.

This meant I could learn and study ANYTHING I was interested in.

So I read books that interested me.

I cultivated an interest in many other subjects other than Magic.

In many cases, I met the authors of the books I had studied and they became good friends of mine.

I read a book on Photography called Understanding Exposure by Bryan Peterson.

This book had a big impact on me because finally, someone had written a book that explained the concept of Image Creation in such a simple way, it all made sense.

I emailed Bryan and participated in three of his workshops: Washington D.C. The Cotswold and Seattle.

So, this image is a big moment for me because tonight, I saw the Light.

The Light rewarded me with a beautiful expression of life.
