24-70mm

The Fuji 16-55mm F2.8 is the X-System version of the classic 24-70mm F2.8

I love this Zoom Lens from both Fuji & Nikon - it is a fantastic tool for expressive, immersive imagery.

At 16/24mm, you must get close.

Foreground interest sets the tone for the visual conversation.

24 to 28mm is my Wide Angle Frame and this is perfect for setting the scene of an environment.

The depth of field is epic.

At 23/35mm - I have my Classic Frame of 35mm Photography

At 35mm/50mm we are now in the standard field of view.

Finally, 55mm is the equivalent of 82.5mm in Full Frame terms.

This is Portrait Framing at F2.8

This Zoom Lens is so versatile, I treat it as four Prime Lens in one unit.

One Lens that covers such a diverse focal range is perfect for multiple subjects and Travel.

I really love the Wide end at 16/24mm.

With a Lens like this, I set the focal length to match my subject, zoom with my feet to set my composition and then Aperture, Shutter, Speed is fine tuned for creative exposure.

I know many Photographers prefers Prime Lens, I do as well. Some days, I love having one Lens that covers my Visual Frame. My normal choice is my 28-70mm F3.5-4.5mm on my D700 or the XF18-55mm 2.8-4.5 on my X-Pro2.

The 16-55mm F2.8 is simply perfect in its own right.

The fast 2.8 Aperture throughout the zoom range makes this an epic Lens for all subjects…..except wild animals.
