Taking The Long View

It has been a very interesting case study this week, using my Telephoto Zoom Lens.

It started with my XF16-80mm F4; today it continued with a true Telephoto Classic, my XF55-200mm F3.5-4.8

I paired this Lens with my x-Pro 2 - this is a winning combination. It is very agile and responsive. At 55mm it gives me a natural perspective that matches what I see normally.

At 200mm, I can pick out interesting details and fill the frame.

This Lens equals in Full Frame terms 35mm / 85-300mm.

I love it - it's a little front heavy but I don't mind that.

A Lens like this is perfect for picking out details and separating the subject from the background. The Bokeh is really smooth and lovely.

I believe a Zoom Lens offers great possibilities and for my image creation, having a Zoom Lens in my bag is a must.

It's important to my Photography that I use the correct Lens for my subjects. This why I always travel with at least one Zoom / Telephoto option.

There are two ways of getting close to my subjects: I can walk closer with a Prime Lens or use a Telephoto.

Where Wildlife is concerned, safety first.
