FV | Deep Vision

The 50mm is the standard Lens.

This point of distinction has been the accepted norm for decades. I have written about my love for The Classic Frame of 35mm, so it surprises me that the 50mm get’s top billing as an industry standard optics.

The is no question this Lens is marvellous, I really love this field of view and enjoy creating images with this Frame.

Because of my short sightedness, my long vision is telephoto. When I use the 50mm on my Fuji, it behaves like a 75mm on a Full Frame. This field of view is a perfect match for how my eyes work.

The two images above gave me a perfect representation of what my eyes saw - the depth of vision was perfect - not to close, not to far from what my eyes saw, just perfect.

The XF50mm F2 is my normal on my X-Pro 1 ot when using my Nikon Crop sensor D7100 the Nikon 50mm 1.4 is perfect - so really, 70mm on a Full Frame is my natural vision.

It is lovely seeing like this; my natural Wide & Telephoto sits perfectly at 28mm & 70mm on and that means a perfect natural rendition for my images.

All of this experimentation means my data base of Focal Lengths will support whether I shoot Primes or Zooms.

My Vision is set to 28mm & 70mm so 35mm and 50mm are lovely sweet spots in the middle for specific types of images.

Fresh Vision is about looking and seeing deeply into the visual narrative of life .
