My Life

I am greatfull to my father for planting the seed of photography within me. When I look at my old photographs, this was the moment when painting with light became a possibility.

Over the last year, all of my images have come from me documenting my neighbourhood. This is fine because seeking beauty in the every day is an act of gratitude for me.

I’m grateful to this amazing little box and my lens. It allows me to see deeper into this game we call life. It provides me with an opportunity to explore the human narrative, for drama, the multitude of dimensions that make up the human condition.

The lockdown has forced me to really examine what life is about for me. The last year has been quite introspective, I’ve become a curious observer looking at life from a higher plane of consciousness with zero judgement.

The past has happened, Except it for what it is. It is showing me who I was, how I behaved and the impact of choices I made.

Looking after my mother has reminded me about the true meaning of love.

Love is a verb.

Verb denotes an action of some kind with loving intention. Becoming a carer has completely redefined my reality.

It’s all okay, I accept it with grace and peace.

My camera reminds me about the power of gratitude. The ability to see, to notice and to create.

Life goes on.

Every day, it’s an opportunity to create, love, contribute and serve.

Thank as for reading

Mike
