Sharing Our Humanity

It doesn’t take much.

It’s actually very easy to connect with strangers.

All it takes is a smile and a willingness to engage.

Desi and Jerome were clearing up the Trees that weren’t sold.

Jerome was on top of The 123 Laundrette throwing the Trees down while Desi loaded them onto the Truck.

I was quite taking by the scene of Jerome throwing Trees; I asked him to freeze his movement the moment the Tree left his hands. I thought this would create a dynamic action moment.

Jerome asked me to send him his photo which I did.

This was a wonderful moment and exchange.

This is why I never leave home without my camera. Moments are fleeting and I am constantly open, ready and receptive to document the humanism, gesture and expression of life.

“Each day holds a surprise. But only if we expect it can we see, hear, or feel it when it comes to us. Let's not be afraid to receive each day's surprise, whether it comes to us as sorrow or as joy It will open a new place in our hearts, a place where we can welcome new friends and celebrate more fully our shared humanity”.
